About Quiet Storm Outreach Group
Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving disadvantaged communities in the River Region by providing life necessities to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Founder and CEO Alvin Rowell established the name “Quiet Storm” several years before the organization was created based on a vision. The name refers to the “quiet” way his organization serves those who are going through a storm in life.
What We Do
Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. provides direct community outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness in the River Region. They meet people where they are, no matter the circumstances. Although the Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. team is small in size, the organization has already served more than 3,000 disadvantaged individuals since its inception in 2019. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. Founder Alvin Rowell self-funded these initiatives to continue supporting those in need.
In addition to direct community outreach, Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. administers emergency relief services by providing life necessities and hygiene items to victims of natural disasters. During major natural disasters in Jefferson and Montgomery Counties, Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. has supported emergency management organizations like the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with additional supplies to aid affected individuals during disastrous events in the community where we all live together.
Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. also provides survivor support, supplying domestic violence survivors with hygiene products and connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with resources for rehabilitation.
The Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. team constantly undergoes professional training, continuing education, and development to provide the highest quality support for the individuals they serve. In 2022, the organization became the first nonprofit service provider in Alabama to receive a scholarship through PROCEED Incorporated to attend the 2nd Health Equity Summit for service providers. With a small team of dedicated, passionate, and selfless servant leaders, Quiet Storm Outreach Group Inc. takes the world by storm by positively impacting the lives of the less fortunate wherever they are.
