DD-214 and background check are required as part of the application process. Mentors may be assigned to a particular veteran or provide support across the board. If assigned to a veteran, the mentor will be expected to provide support to the veteran until he or she graduates from the program, generally within a year. Mentors stand with the participants during their court reviews and provide support and resources to the veterans to assist them in completing their program.
