Who We Are
Mercy House was founded by Pastor Ken Austin of The New Walk of Life Church for the purpose of aiding the Washington Park neighborhood in Montgomery, Alabama with basic needs such as food, clothing, showers and internet access for job searches.
What We Do
The Mercy House is one of the tools in the Washington Park Community to Redirect Lives. This multifaceted ministry is a “Day House” providing a safe place for people to receive all kinds of help - a hot meal, a change of clothes and more. The facility has two full bathrooms with showers available for homeless people to use. There are washers and dryers available for families in need to wash and dry their clothes as well as a clothes closet and food pantry.
