Who We Are

We are the Foster Grandparent Program made possible through Americorps grant and the City of Montgomery.

What We Do

Montgomery, Ala. — Spring brings renewal, and the City of Montgomery is calling on compassionate folks 55 and up to join the Foster Grandparents Program.

This is a fun, intergenerational gig where you hang out with kids, offering them a boost of support, wisdom, and encouragement—without the heavy lifting of taking anyone home.
This program lets you play a starring role as a mentor, tutor, or cheerleader. You’ll help kids build confidence, sharpen skills, and dream big—all while making Montgomery stronger, one high-five at a time. It’s less about clocking hours and more about sharing your spark.

Why jump in?
Build real connections with kids and a crew of like-minded volunteers.
No experience, not a problem, we’ll train you.
Oh, and there’s a little extra cash for those who qualify.

We’re looking for anyone 55 or older with a passion for helping kids thrive—all you need is enthusiasm.

Don’t wait—act today! Contact Rhonda Watson at 334.451.9788 or visit www.montgomeryal.gov to apply or learn more.

In 2025, make your mark. Become a Foster Grandparent and shape a future of hope for Montgomery’s children.
