Who We Are
Montgomery Area TNR Community, a 100% volunteer-run group working to control the rapidly growing feral cat population in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. People reach out constantly regarding feral cats in their neighborhood that they need trapped and fixed. The group needs volunteers to assist with trapping and transporting to MHS or Alabama Animal Alliance.
Our group is typically contacted through Facebook for TNR requests: Montgomery Area TNR Community
What We Do
TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return, a humane and highly effective method of managing feral cat colonies. The process is simple: trap the cats, bring them to a vet for spaying or neutering, and return them to their original territory. The Montgomery Humane Society offers free spay/neuter of feral cats to local residents (MHS Community Cats). You are required to catch the cat and arrange transportation to/from MHS. When MHS get calls regarding feral cats they direct them to our Facebook page, Montgomery Area TNR Community.
