Who We Are

The Second Chance Foundation was created in 1998 in collaboration with the Montgomery County Board of Education to provide services to students expelled from public school due to serious violations of law or behavioral codes. Expulsions in Montgomery and surrounding counties often involve weapons possession, fighting, gang activity or threats/assault to school staff.

What We Do

Second Chance offers a comprehensive day treatment program designed to enable youth to change their attitudes and behavior, avoid continued involvement with the juvenile justice system and successfully reenter school.  The organization serves all school age students in the River Region and offers a GED program that serves youth ages 17-24. All services are free, but transportation is not provided.
